Did you know that Fort Knox’s annual economic impact is $5.6 billion? Of that amount, $1.3 billion is payroll, and much of the remaining $4.3 billion is associated with government contracts. The Kentucky APEX Accelerator is pleased to highlight a resource partner who can help shed light on the installation’s contracting landscape.
The Knox Regional Development Alliance (KRDA) is a community-based nonprofit organization located in Hardin County, just outside the gates of Fort Knox. KRDA’s mission is to promote and protect Fort Knox to maximize its economic impact. The organization’s primary goal is to protect existing missions at Fort Knox and to advocate for new missions on the installation, but they are also focused on growing the broader defense-sector economy off-post too.

What does that mean for APEX Accelerator clients? If you are interested in learning more about the unique missions on Fort Knox and what opportunities might exist for you to do business on post, the team at KRDA can provide you with valuable insight.
KRDA is a long-time partner of the Kentucky APEX Accelerator, but the two programs now collaborate even more closely since the APEX Accelerator’s Radcliff/Ft. Knox office has co-located with the KRDA team in Radcliff, KY. This co-location provides a one-stop shop for companies that want to explore government contracting opportunities at Fort Knox and beyond, and the two organizations are realizing even greater synergy as a result.

Even if your company is not located in Hardin or the surrounding counties, the KRDA team is happy to take your call or hold a virtual meeting with you and your APEX Accelerator representative.
KRDA President and CEO Colonel Retired Lance O’Bryan says it best: “Fort Knox is an economic powerhouse for the region and the entire commonwealth. At KRDA we are doing all we can to advocate for its continued growth and helping companies discover how they might do business with the government. Community partnerships like the one with APEX Accelerator maximize our impact.”
