The Kentucky APEX Accelerator welcomed a new procurement consultant in the western Kentucky region this September. Reigh Kemp is based in Murray, KY and will serve clients across 30 counties in the far western portion of the state. Kemp’s region encompasses both Murray and Paducah, where the Kentucky APEX Accelerator has a regional office space co-located with the Sprocket innovation hub.

The Kentucky APEX Accelerator, an initiative of the Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation (KSTC), promotes economic development and private sector business growth by providing no-cost assistance to Kentucky companies pursuing federal, state and local government contracts and subcontracts. Services include contracting readiness, compliance considerations, system registrations and market research to identify growth opportunities. Other Kentucky APEX Accelerator office locations include Bowling Green, Covington, Lexington, London, Louisville, Pikeville, Radcliff/Fort Knox and Somerset.

A strategic presence in western Kentucky is vital to the Kentucky APEX Accelerator’s mission to support Kentucky’s statewide economic growth. The region is rich with government contracting and subcontracting opportunities through the Fort Campbell army base, the U.S. Department of Energy, Murray State University and other government and quasi-government agencies. The hire of a dedicated procurement consultant to serve this region is a reflection of the Kentucky APEX Accelerator’s investment in Kentucky businesses across every corner of the Commonwealth.
Kentucky APEX Accelerator Executive Director Nancy Brown said, “Western Kentucky is a region of tremendous opportunity, and Reigh Kemp’s addition to our statewide team ensures that local businesses are not only prepared but also positioned to compete for contracts that drive economic growth. By strengthening our presence in the region, we are helping businesses across the Commonwealth thrive and contribute to a stronger, more resilient economy.”
Reigh Kemp brings a strong foundation in program coordination, research administration and strategic communication to her role as procurement consultant. Before joining the Kentucky APEX Accelerator team, she spent six years at Murray State University, where she most recently served as Institutional Review Board (IRB) Coordinator. During her time at Murray State, she developed a reputation for cross-functional collaboration across disciplines and a commitment to organizational excellence.
Kemp holds a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences and a master’s degree in Organizational Communication from Murray State University. She is currently completing her MBA with a concentration in Business Analytics, further strengthening her ability to support data-driven decision-making and strategic procurement guidance.
Passionate about fostering economic growth across western Kentucky and the broader Commonwealth, Kemp is dedicated to helping small businesses navigate the government contracting process and expand their opportunities in the public sector.
“I’m incredibly honored to join the KY APEX Accelerator team!” Kemp said. “Supporting Kentucky’s small businesses as they grow through government contracting isn’t just a job, it’s a mission I deeply believe in. I’m excited to walk alongside entrepreneurs, open doors and help build a stronger future together."
