Founded as Stitch Designers Inc. nearly 40 years ago in Louisville, Kentucky, #TagSwag is one of the best-known apparel and product decorators in the United States. This family-owned contract embroidery business, now led by a second generation, connects its clients to its manufacturing using modern technology and an emphasis on service.
In addition to embroidery, the company also offers screen printing, heat transfers, direct-to-garment printing and laser applique.
Starting with a single embroidery machine in 1985, #TagSwag now operates two manufacturing facilities staffed by more than 100 talented individuals from ten different countries, speaking five different languages! As part of their continued growth, the company is poised to move into brand new headquarters in the heart of Louisville.
#TagSwag President David Horne reached out to the Kentucky APEX Accelerator early in 2025 as part of his strategy to expand sales beyond the commercial sector. Having already working with two major universities and well-known brands like Adidas, Fabletics, Cintas and Aramark, Horne recognized the potential in selling customized apparel to the numerous government agencies whose workers wear uniforms.
“The Kentucky APEX Accelerator got us started with the basics of registrations, helped us craft our Capability Statement and SBA profile, then activated our Bid Match profile,” said Horne. “It’s great to have learned of this no-cost assistance available to Kentucky businesses like ours.”
